Solent Stevedores delighted to win Customer Care Award at the IBJ Awards ceremony 2016

The IBJ Awards are a salute to excellence in the Maritime Bulk Industry and Solent Stevedores was delighted to be shorlisted once again for an award at this years Gala Dinner. More than 20 of the team from Solent Stevedores joined a large crowd of bulk industry executives from all over the world at the prestigious Tower of London ceremony on 21st November.

Ian Jacobs was pleased to present the Bulks Logistics Excellence Award to Drax - one of the UK's largest providers of renewable energy who have committed to a sustainable future by generating power from compressed wood pellets.

Customer Care Award winners - Solent Stevedores

The team from Solent Stevedores were delighted to be judged the winner of the Customer Care Award once again amongst tough competition from the UAE, Poland and the USA. The prestigious industry award was presented to Doug Webb, Jerry Board and Mark Loveless representing Solent Stevedores.

The independent judging panel found that

"Solent Stevedores demonstrated how they place customer service at the forefront of company activity; a culture passed from the top, downwards and reflected in how the company's own staff are cared for."

Ian Jacobs comments;

"We are delighted to have won this award for a second time as it clearly demonstrates that our team is wholly committed to exceeding the expectations of our clients. We continually challenge ourselves to make improvements in all we do, and winning this award is yet again proof that our team have the needs of our customers uppermost in their thoughts at all times".

Personality of the Year Award

Stuart Cullen was delighted with the success of his Company receiving the Customer Care Award once again and humbly accepted his own award for Personality of the Year.  Stuart was presented the Award by the Chief Executive Office of Rouen- based Euro Docks, Jean Pierre Scouarnec. The IBJ judges said;

{excerpt} "Cullen has gained a reputation in the market as a principled, honourable man, whose resilience and patience have helped him achieve his business goals. A visionary, possessing high-analytical skills and an eye for the main opportunity. Cullen has made an immense contribution to the bulk industry. Most importantly, he is someone who cares passionately about the wellbeing of all those within his business and beyond..."

Upon acceptance of his Award, Stuart commented that it was;

"a reflection of all the staff who collectively deserved to be winners of the Award as they epitomize the personality and values of the Company."
