Cunard mark her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by sailing 3 prestigious ships to their home port of Southampton together for the first time.
On Tuesday 5th June, Cunard Line sailed its three prestigious cruise ships into their home port of Southampton, for the first time, to mark the Diamond Jubilee of her Majesty the Queen.
‘Queen Mary 2’ and her two sister ships, ‘Queen Elizabeth’ and ‘Queen Victoria’ sailed, single file, into Southampton soon after dawn with a flotilla of small boats welcoming them in.
Solent Stevedores’ staff was out in force to support Cunard on this prestigious occasion providing normal baggage handling and ship stores loading services.
Normal departure time for cruise ship calls is around 1700hrs but the ships remained in port until 2300hrs to enable passengers, spectators and remaining Solent Stevedores staff to witness a spectacular firework display.
