Solent Stevedores welcomes new appointments.
We were delighted to be joined by Tom Dynes who will take up the role of Operations Manager, and Zak McElvenny in June 2014 as part of company expansion.
Tom has been working in the Port Industry since graduating from Southampton University in 2008. He started his career as a Management Trainee with ABP and in 2009 was promoted to Operations and Security Manager in the Port of Southampton, managing Cruise Turnaround Operations at the City Terminal. During this time Tom worked closely with a leading Cruise Line to help overhaul completely the passenger experience at the Terminal, overseeing a capital investment in excess of £750k in terminal improvements resulting in record guest satisfaction ratings. Tom also managed to reduce total energy consumption at the Cruise Terminal by over 60% in a year which saw a 12% growth in business.
Tom joined Solent Stevedores in June 2014 and is looking forward to further broadening his Operational experience.
Prior to joining Solent Stevedores Ltd Zak had been working as an Environmental Manager in the London area for construction company Sir Robert McAlpine. Since graduating in 2007 he has been involved in a number of high profile projects in the capital with his latest involvement being the £500 million New London Embassy Development in Vauxhall.
Zak specialises in sustainable procurement, community liaison and compliance auditing. Zak holds a degree in Environmental Studies, NEBOSH General Certificate and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
