3 Year deal with Saga Cruises ends record year for Solent Stevedores’ Cruise Division

Solent Stevedores have recently signed a 3-year agreement with luxury cruise operator, Saga Cruises to provide full in-port stevedoring and turnaround services to Saga Cruise vessels calling at the Port of Southampton until 2020.

The services provided will include mooring, baggage handling, and mobility assistance to guests, alongside loading stores and provisions to the vessels.

Solent Stevedores’ cruise business has grown significantly in 2017 and the company now handle 86% of the cruise vessels calling to Southampton.

Preparations for 2018 are well underway: it is estimated that next year Solent Stevedores will provide in-port services to some 450 cruise ships, 1.8 million cruise passengers, handle 2.7 million suitcases, and load in excess of 100,000 tonnes of ship’s stores, cementing the company’s position as one of top cruise stevedoring suppliers globally.
