2025 Look Back

Jan 7, 2026 | News

2025 has been a significant year for Solent Stevedores as we celebrated a quarter of a century of operations. From a small bulks operation at the Port of Southampton to award-winning teams across 7 locations and operational in 3 countries.

This year our investment has continued in Southampton with bulks and cruise. An infrastructure upgrade to the Mulberry Shed provided enhanced covered storage for animal grain and feed, and in cruise, upgrades to the resilience, safety and security of the cruise infrastructure and facilities have rolled out.

Bulks across the business has seen a three-year high of more than 1 million tonnes handled across all recyclables, construction, and agricultural bulks throughout the company. Southampton alone saw 117 ships visit the bulks terminals.

In Jersey we have worked to support the transition in the Island to a new long term ferry provider in the form of DFDS.

The typical cruise season for Southampton runs from April to September but vessel and passenger support from Team Solent operates all year round. By the end of the year, the team will have welcomed 449 ships with 2.5m passengers, handled 134,000 pallets of stores and 3.3m items of luggage.

London Gateway has seen some record-breaking volumes this year. The team has completed nearly 14,000 M&R jobs, handled over 100,000 containers with a maximum 5,210 TEU in storage. In Southampton 11,200 M&R jobs have been completed and the highest level of TEU in storage has been 6,604.

We’re looking forward to sharing more of our investment plans, infrastructure upgrades, and the people behind the high quality of work across all our operations.
