Solent Stevedores’ 4600 TEU empty container handling facility at DP Worlds’ London Gateway port, Essex. Our team of 20 provides a range of container services on a short or long-term basis and handles over 80,000 containers each year.
Located On Port at the UK’s most sophisticated and integrated deep-sea container logistics hub.
We provide a range of broad range of next-generation empty container handling, storage, maintenance, repair and shunting services.
Solent Stevedores established a presence at the Port of London Gateway in 2014.
Since then, we have invested over £5million to develop the 8-acre site on a long-term lease basis with the addition of associated machinery and equipment.
Our site supports major shipping lines at the globally connected, deep water Container Terminal.
EMPTY CONTAINER SERVICES
STORAGE
4,600 TEU of storage available at up to 7 units high.
HANDLING
Handling around 80,000 containers each year with 4 Hyster and 2 Kalmar Empty Container Handlers (ECH).
MAINTENANCE
We use a bespoke, cloud-based Container Terminal Software solution to handle all client Maintenance & Repair requirements.
REPAIRS
Our highly skilled team take on all necessary and authorised repairs of containers. We are an authorised service centre stocking spare parts for Carrier, Thermo King, Star Cool and Daikin. Reefer Containers can be delivered into the Solent Stevedores Depot where data downloads take place and an estimate can be arranged. Once approved, repairs are carried out by our team of highly trained Reefer Engineers, supported by manufacturer training.
SHUNTING
With access to more than 20 shunt vehicles, we can move high volumes of containers in a short space of time.
CONTAINER SALES
We have a wide range of used containers and reefers that are wind and watertight.
Reefer Points
The Depot has had 60 x Reefer Points installed which allows our team of skilled engineers to carry out pre–trip inspections whilst also giving us added flexibility for the export demands of our clients.
Gen sets
Gen Sets are available to provide power to a Reefer Container when its usual power source is unavailable – often used for sensitive or chilled cargo travelling longer distances.
