The candidate will be expected to service, maintain, and repair containers

  • You will be working with the team at the Solent Stevedores Container Terminal in the Port of London Gateway
  • This role will be an Estimator/Container Repairer working with the container maintenance and repair team.

Requirements:

  • You will be working with the team at the Solent Stevedores Container Terminal in the Port of London Gateway
  • Experience in a surveying and repairing containers.
  • Good attitude towards health & safety.
  • UK driving licence preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with staff and customers.
  • Ability to work in a busy, sometimes high-pressured environment.
  • Ability to read lists and follow instructions.· Basic use of email and applications on tablets/phones.

Main Duties:

  • Fabrication welding and straightening of ISO Containers which involve repairs and replacement of components or sections.
  • General engineering works to include fitting of patches, insulation, door hardware, weatherproof seals, drains and ventilation.
  • Replacement and sectioning of Plywood flooring.
  • Painting of all repairs that have been completed.
  • General labour duties associated with container repairs.
  • Surveying and estimating containers on arrival to site.
  • Sweep out sound containers to a dry and clean standard.
  • Inspect units for high spec grades including food, cdof and malt.
  • Create estimates using Intermodal Manager software. This should include all key information and photographs.
  • Learn and use CEDEX coding for damage units.
  • Promote a positive working culture.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
