Job Description:
Solent Stevedores are an established, family run business that specialises in Port Terminal Operations. We have a presence in several ports across the UK including Southampton, Immingham, London (London Gateway & Silvertown) and Jersey.
The candidate will be expected to service, maintain, and repair containers

Background:
- You will be working with the team at the Solent Stevedores Container Terminal in the Port of London Gateway
- This role will be an Estimator/Container Repairer working with the container maintenance and repair team.
- There is one full time role available. This role is day shift.

Requirements:
- You will be working with the team at the Solent Stevedores Container Terminal in the Port of London Gateway
- Experience in a surveying and repairing containers.
- Good attitude towards health & safety.
- UK driving licence preferred.
- Ability to communicate with staff and customers.
- Ability to work in a busy, sometimes high-pressured environment.
- Ability to read lists and follow instructions.· Basic use of email and applications on tablets/phones.
Main Duties:
- Fabrication welding and straightening of ISO Containers which involve repairs and replacement of components or sections.
- General engineering works to include fitting of patches, insulation, door hardware, weatherproof seals, drains and ventilation.
- Replacement and sectioning of Plywood flooring.
- Painting of all repairs that have been completed.
- General labour duties associated with container repairs.
- Surveying and estimating containers on arrival to site.
- Sweep out sound containers to a dry and clean standard.
- Inspect units for high spec grades including food, cdof and malt.
- Create estimates using Intermodal Manager software. This should include all key information and photographs.
- Learn and use CEDEX coding for damage units.
- Promote a positive working culture.
