Solent Stevedores has signed a 20 year agreement with Aggregate Industries to operate a new cement storage facility at the Port of Southampton

The conversion of 107 flat store into a modern state-of-the-art cement import storage redelivery facility began on 11 March and once complete will see 100,000 tonnes through the bulks terminal.

Pneumatic vessels will be able to pump material into the warehouse with an encapsulated pipe system where the highest level of environmental standards will be in place.

This new contract builds on the existing relationship Solent Stevedores already has with the manufacturer and supplier of sustainable construction and building materials. Aggregate Industries has been bringing bulk aggregate through the King George V Dock since 2021.

Clive Thomas, Commercial Director at Solent Stevedores, said: “This long-term contract with Aggregate Industries is an extension of our existing relationship into a new product area. It will facilitate a significant upgrade in the facilities and increase the range of products Team Solent handles through the Bulks terminal.”

We look forward to sharing more details on this project as it progresses. Solent Stevedores has signed a 20 year agreement with Aggregate Industries to operate a new cement storage facility at the Port of Southampton.
