Solent Stevedores, a UK leading port operator, has expanded operations at its existing London Gateway site to add further resilience for customers.
An investment of £5 million has enabled expansion of the site for next generation empty container handling, storage maintenance, repair and shunting.
Taking the site from 5 to 8 acres, the specialist cargo handlers have expanded their storage capabilities by approximately 40% and can now store 3,500 TEU.
The larger site has seen an impact on the number of lifts each day increasing from 200 a day to in excess of 300 container lifts a day.
Fiona Robson, Managing Director of Solent Stevedores said:
“We’re pleased to have made this investment at our site in London Gateway. By increasing our space and storage capacity, we are in a strong position to offer greater resilience for our customers.”
Solent Stevedores continually invests in its port infrastructure and employees to ensure it can stay one step ahead of its customers’ needs.
